It’s not very often I post a recipe or a food related item of my creation, simply because I’m just not a cook. But this 4th of July treat is so easy my 5 year old could make it. It takes a bit of prep, only because gelatin needs to set, but actual assembly once set takes 3 minutes, tops.
I’d be lying if I said I never made these 20 years ago with alcohol infused gelatin for a 4th of July celebration.
What you need:
1 package red gelatin
1 package blue gelatin
fruit to garnish
See? Easy. I bought the 6oz boxes of gelatin so we’d have plenty to share. Also, because Cartwheel has a coupon for 20% off Jell-O right now.
With plenty of time to spare, prepare the gelatin according to the box directions. Fill up the serving cups 1/3 full with the blue gelatin. Let the red gelatin set in a pan of your choice. After gelatin has set, spread a layer of whipped topping. Then spoon in a layer of red gelatin. Garnish with fruit as desired.
Could this BE any easier? Not really!
Happy 4th of July!
