Just in time for Earth Day: Marcal Paper Products Review & Giveaway

Have you heard of Marcal Small Steps before? Marcal is a paper company based out of New Jersey which specializes in recylced paper goods. In 2009, they introduced their Marcal® Small Steps® line of 100% recycled bath tissue, towels, napkins and facial tissue for both home consumption and to distributors for commercial use.

Marcal has been in business since 1950 providing affordable recycled paper solutions and saving countless trees and landfills by using recycled paper such as your junk mail to make their paper products.

Marcal’s products for the home and office, including toilet paper, facial tissue, napkins and paper towels are hypoallergenic, virtually lint free, and whitened without chlorine bleaching.

I received a case of Marcal products including toilet paper, tissue, paper towels and napkins. My husband was happy because we are a paper towel and paper napkin free household. But, I can feel good about using these paper towels and napkins knowing that they are already made of 100% recycled materials.

I have not tried the napkins yet, but they are dye free, white paper napkins. I have used the paper towels to wipe up a few messes and clean out the microwave and they held up fine. They are not thick, like a Bounty or Brawny napkin, but what I do like about them is that the sheets are smaller so that you can decide the size you need and not be stuck with a large square if you don’t really need one that large.

I have used a few of the facial tissues, and while they are not soft like a Puffs or a Kleenex, they are durable and didn’t “flake” all over the place when I blew my nose. I can’t say I’d like to use them when I have a cold and have to blow my nose every 5 minutes, but for occasional use they are absolutely fine.

I received two different packages of toilet paper, one “double roll” and one single roll. Look at how cute the paper is with little hearts on it!

The toilet paper is similar to the tissue where it is not Charmin soft, but it is durable and holds up well for its intended purpose. And it has hearts on it. Too cute!

I had never known about Marcal before I was contacted by them for this review. Now that I DO know about them, they will be the only toilet tissue that we will use. I feel much better buying a recycled product like this. And, if the need arises for us to use paper towels or napkins, I will purchase Marcal as well.

Thanks for the giveaway…Marcal has been saving the environment and trees and reducing landfill by making paper products from recycled paper for 50 years; they use paper collected from curbs in residential neighborhoods across America–from the small blue baskets in office buildings, unwanted junk mail, and waste from printers–all in an effort to do something good, to produce something that people need.

To help teach others about the importance of recycling and saving the environment, they have developed four free lesson plans that teachers can use to educate and inspire their students to take an active role in living a sustainable life.

Marcal is an integral part of the northern New Jersey community. Our company uses recyclables from local municipalities and recycling facilities for our paper recycling process.
