4th of July is here and gone. How did that happen? We only have a little over a month until my daughter starts back to preschool. But we’ve only been to the pool 4 times! My countdown ticker on my phone told me there are only 46 days until we head to Minnesota on our end-of-summer vacation. That’s 6 1/2 weeks!
I seriously have no idea what has happened to the first half of the summer. We’ve been having fun and doing lots, but it seems to have passed us by in the blink of an eye. And the summer temps have been so hot, even on my day off each week we tend to do things to stay cool instead of heading to the park or other outdoor activities.
We’ve been to our share of baseball games so far, and despite the Rockies not exactly playing up to their potential, we’ve still enjoyed ourselves. There’s something to be said for sitting outside on a beautiful summer’s night enjoying America’s pastime. Violet still enjoys it and still will sit still for the whole game, so we’re very lucky there. She loves the “Ashonal Manthem” and “Take Me Out to the Ballgame”, and many games I feel like she knows more about the team than many people sitting around us.
I’m still working a lot. But I make sure that I have one week day off each week to spend time with her and do things that are fun for us. This year it’s been a few baseball games, a few pool trips, and a few lunches out. It still never seems like quite enough.

I, too, am in disbelief it’s already (almost) mid-July. Time just keeps going faster and faster the older I get. My daughter is starting preschool next month and there just doesn’t seem to be enough days between now and then to get everything done I had originally hoped to.

It is really sad because I love summer and hate winter but this summer for some strange reason the mosquitos have been so horrible I can’t even sit outside for 5 minutes.. at all at any time during the day. So, with all the nice weather we have had I have been stuck in my house.
And, it is half way thru July.. winter is slowly approaching and it makes me sad
