Man, I could write forever on this topic! I don’t know if I have so many because I’m just easily irritated, or if it’s normal to have a lot! I’m trying to learn patience, but it’s not always that easy. So here, in no particular order, are my pet peeves.
Driving under the speed limit – In general, I can’t stand slow drivers. But what really irks me are people who can’t even drive the speed limit. We live near a 2 lane highway that is 55mph and I would say 8 times out of 10 I am stuck behind someone going no more than 50mph – usually 45 or so. You can’t pass, so you’re just stuck there. I understand driving under the speed limit in bad driving conditions; I’m referring to normal conditions.
Mis-use of their/there/they’re and your/you’re – People! We learn this in elementary school. Their = belongs to them. There = a place. They’re = they are. Your = belonging to you. You’re = you are. This is not that difficult!
People who chew with their mouths open – I tend to doubt anyone I’ve met IRL was born in a barn, so get your act together and eat like you’re part of human civilization.
Talking on your phone in a social situation/game/etc – You’re on a date, shopping with a friend, on a bus, getting off an airplane, at a ball game, at a dinner. Get off your phone.
Tailgaters – I especially love when someone tailgates then zips past you and you’re right next to them at the next stoplight. Instant karma.
Pants sagging – it goes without saying that this is just dumb.
People that dress their pets – I know a lot of people do this. It’s not my thing. They’re animals. They’re cute just the way they are. You can also add people who carry their mini-dogs in their purses to this.
People who leave their dogs out barking – We have a neighbor who let their dog out at 5:30am, and it has been out barking for as long as 3 hours before. 5:30am. Might you think your neighbors would be sleeping and not wanting to hear your dog constantly barking? You’d think.
The one-upper – you know, your kid learned to tie their shoes. So their kid designed their own line of footwear. You lost 20 pounds. They lost 40 “without doing anything, really”.
The jerk on Facebook that runs their mouth – making racist/sexist/homophobic or derogatory comments and then gets worked up when someone calls them out on it, like nothing they said was wrong, or that they have a right to say so because of “freedom of speech”.
Those are just a few examples of my biggest pet peeves. What are some of yours?

hahah..I am with you on those…but will admit, we bought our little dog a sweater…although I don’t carry her around..but she looks so card cute in that sweater of hers! Now,my two big monster dogs…I don’t think they make sweaters that big.
haha we bought our black lab a sweater years ago because she had surgery and was shaved on the side, and of course winter in Minnesota is cold. I don’t mind sweaters, it’s the bows and rain coats etc etc!
Inefficiency. It’s my biggest pet peeve. That includes things like driving under the speed limit, leaving me a 2-minute voice mail to ask me a 10-second question, blocking the grocery store aisle with your cart, people who will drive around for 20 minutes to get a “close” parking space (when they could have parked a few aisles away and would have been in the mall for 15 minutes already), people who don’t check to see if something has been done before they start doing it, etc.
My mother takes a minimum of 10 minutes to tell a 3 sentence story. I completely understand.
I have a few pet peeves, I guess. But honestly, I’m not easily annoyed. I aim for more positive energy (took years to get to this point, though). My biggest pet peeve though is — poor customer service. I see this time and time again in all types of businesses. You can tell they hate their jobs and behave like they resent you for their having to be their waiting/helping you. I think you should take pride in yourself to do your best job no matter what that job may be. That’s just me, though.
Mis-use of their/there/they’re and your/you’re <—– THIS!!!!
It's infuriating when adults, especially teachers, make these mistakes.
Ugh, I hate slow drivers too! I encounter them every single day on the way to and from work.
Definitely tailgaters and people who lie to try to impress people.
I have way too many pet peeves, but the biggest pet peeve is lying. I can’t stand a liar. The truth has a way of sneaking up on you sooner or later.
most of those and hubby drinking out of the milk carton or lemonde carton or the soda bottle UUGH makes me so mad cause when he does it each one of the kids want to do it
So many of ours are similar. I got SO tired of “One Uppers” I literally got a Mario Brothers 1up mushroom tattooed on me so I will forever have a 1up on them. (Yes, I’m serious)
That. Is. Awesome. (PS we have a bar here in Denver called the 1Up – it’s a video game bar with all the epic 80′s video games. It’s fabulous!)
That’s a great list! People that ride your butt drive me nuts too I slow wayyyyy down just to piss them off LOL.
Brandi´s last [type] ..The True Story of Puss ‘N Boots
I have been known to do that more than once
I have a lot of pet peeves. For driving I can’t stand when someone cuts me off when I’m doing the speed limit and then they drive like a turtle. Really?!
HAHA.
I’m SO incredibly guilty of driving under the speed limit on that highway. Seriously, constantly catching myself at 45. Which is especially weird since I go 5 over on any other road – I don’t know why I can’t seem to do that on the way to your house…
things falling out of magazines, and people calling me to say I won something, or anything else that’s a lie or waste of my time
