I’m probably getting way too far ahead of myself, but I was thrilled that the temperature today was a steady 52 degrees. Of course it was 92 on Monday and 86 yesterday, so this was probably just a freak of nature. But because of that, I had to dig for some of my fall clothes. I’ve been slowly losing weight, so I’m in between sizes and some of my clothes from previous fall seasons are too big, and some are too small still.
To be honest, I don’t even know what the fall trends are. That’s one problem I’ve had since being overweight. I just find whatever is comfortable that fits into my idea of appropriate to wear. I’m really looking forward to getting back into a size that can easily be found at my favorite stores AND looks good on me.
I’m fortunate that with my job I can dress fairly casually. I can wear jeans every day if I want to – even gym pants, as I work on teaching people daily living skills such as being able to safely shower. I wear pretty basic cotton tops, v-neck t-shirt, sweaters or even hoodies. Yeah, I’m not exactly the epitome of fashion.
But still. I’d like a few new things to mix into my wardrobe for the fall, into the winter. As I lose weight, I’ll have clothes from seasons past that will start to fit, but there’s just something about having a few new outfits and looking good in them.
What are your must have fall clothes this year? Where do you shop for stylish but affordable clothes? I’ve seen some at Spiegel.com, but I know there must be more places to check out.
