I’ve been so busy this week (and next week looks to be twice as busy) that blogging has kind of taken a back seat. I LOVE blogging, don’t get me wrong – but when your time is limited you have to prioritize.
I finally bought a few more lawn supplies today, including more garden hose, a small sprinkler for my flowers, and a spray nozzle since none of my 3 spray nozzles that we already have seem to have a tight fit on the hose and I end up more wet than what I’m trying to spray. I also bought some more flowers to plant, including some from the sunflower family, violets, snapdragons, and some more pansies. I was hoping to plant them when I got home but I barely opened the garage doors and it started pouring out, and eventually hailing. Luckily that only lasted about 10 minutes, but by then I just wasn’t in the mood to go outside again!
Now I’m doing laundry in preparation for our road trip on Friday. Last night I met the pet sitter who is going to come and give Vinny his pills so my mother-in-law doesn’t have to. I’m doing my best to tidy up the house a little bit so my mother-in-law won’t feel compelled to have to clean while she’s here staying with Violet!
I woke up super early this morning to take my car in for an oil change and tire rotation since we’re taking my car on our trip to Kansas City. Of course, my 2nd and 3rd patients either canceled on me at the door or weren’t home. I LOVE when they can’t be bothered to call me to tell me this and I make the drive to their homes anyway. Then I got stuck in a long, relatively boring meeting at work.
I’m really excited for our road trip, minus the road part of it. I’m excited to meet Annie and Janessa, and to hang out with my brother. Oh, and I’m excited for baseball, beer, and BBQ – there’s not much more that I need to make me happy!
Vinny’s doing all right. I’ve been so touched by all the kind words that people have said on my blog, Facebook & the Nest. People that know me know how much my cats mean to me. Losing one of them would devastate me.
I wore a pair of pants today that I wore maybe 2 weeks ago – they fit fine then, and today I was hiking them up every 3 steps. I’m NOT complaining, even though it was annoying! But I’m still also in that in-between stage where some of my size 12′s fit ok, and some are still really tight, but the 14′s are too big. It’s fun to go shopping in my closet, though (well, actually in my basement in Rubbermaid bins)
I left before Violet got up this morning and Scott did her hair. Fail. No pictures due to the enormity of the fail.
Laundry’s done, time to hit the dryer.

Aww I bet the hair fail would have made for an adorable picture.
Can’t wait to meet you either! I’m looking forward to it!

Hey, when the blog has to take the back seat, that’s the way it needs to be. You have a life outside of the blog and we are aware of that and understand.
Hey when I was well and worked as a nurse I did home visits in my second to last job. I hated that too when you’d go to the home of a patient and they’d not be home.
Then in my last job I did home health for a whole shift with a little child that was ventilator dependent. The family took off to Mexico for a whole weekend and never let me know, so for three consecutive nights I drove to their home, in another town no less and they were not there. It was a total bummer. Waste of gas which the nurses were not compensated for by the company I worked for. The CNA’s got there mileage, but not the nurses or therapists with that company.
Now, I’m just a housewife, but it’s okay. It’s what’s my body needs since I have a genetic neurological disease, but the Doctor’s haven’t given a name to it yet.
I’ll keep praying for Vinny the cat. Meow.
I completely understand the blog taking the backseat! Mine has definitely done the same with this house buying experience.
