October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Throughout the month of October, I will be posting about different companies that donate proceeds to different organizations that work to help spread breast cancer awareness as well as fund research and help victims and survivors.

This is a cause that is important to me for many reasons. One, I’m a woman. This disease primarily strikes women – however, I have a dear friend who is a male and is a survivor. That leads to two: I have an aunt, a cousin, a male friend and a female friend who have all battled or are battling this disease. They were all diagnosed at different ages: mid-30′s, mid-40′s, and early 60′s. Just like most forms of cancer, age doesn’t matter.

This year I am taking part in a 5K to benefit the breast cancer chapter of the American Cancer Society. Should you be so inclined, my walk is October 6th and I would appreciate an and all donations. My donation page can be found here.

Continue to check back to my blog during October as I do my part to help spread breast cancer awareness, ways to donate, and how you can make sure you are checking yourself correctly.
