Nasoya Tofu Plus Review & Giveaway

Tofu is misunderstood. What do you think of when you think of it? If you’ve never eaten it before, I bet it might have some negative connotations in your mind. Some of us just are picky eaters, or more likely just not adventurous when it comes to foods.

I’m not one of those people. I first had tofu years ago when I was in college, and when prepared well, it’s delicious. My favorite ways to eat it are with brown rice and veggies, and in stir fry with lo mein noodles. Most recently, I made a grilled tofu salad with this recipe from Nasoya:

Marinade & Dressing:
1tbls light soy sauce
3 tbsl fresh cilantro (Coriander)
1/2 inch of grated fresh ginger
1 clove of minced fresh garlic
1 tbls rice vinegar
1 tbls olive oil
2 tsp sesame oil

1 pkg Nasoya firm or extra firm tofu, cubed
1 bag spring mix or spinach
1/4 cup dried cranberries
1/4 cup walnuts
1 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 small red onion, thinly sliced

Preparation Method: Mix the marinade & dressing ingredients together. Pour over the tofu and let sit for at least 15 minutes for up to 12 hours.

On high, grill the tofu, flipping once there are grill marks – this will improve the texture of the tofu, making it more similar to meat. Once the tofu is lightly browned let it cool.

Toss the tofu and the remaining dressing into your salad and enjoy!

Because I eat tofu on a semi-regular basis, I really enjoyed it and the texture was perfect. Firm, and not unlike chicken.

    OOOH I make ALOT of things…one thing that I do that gives me satisfaction is to mix Tofu into scrambled eggs. The kids think it is just part of the Eggs or something and they do not know what Powerful, Healthy, Food, they just ate and loved! For a treat I like to coat and fry Tofu to make meltingly soft little marshmallowy Tofu Pillows! Zesty and satisfying!

    I like cubes of tofu covered in my homemade nutritional yeast gravy. Yeast gravy smells just like turkey. Yummy!
