Lazy Saturday

So, we were supposed to be en route to Estes Park, CO to spend the weekend at the Stanley Hotel, just my husband and I. But… you know, life had other plans. My husband wasn’t feeling well last night and by this morning he was full-blown sick. Normally not a huge deal, but of course it isn’t easy to enjoy yourself on a getaway if you’re sick. And, if I get sick before my surgery, we won’t be able to go ahead with it. Sigh.

So, instead of being bummed, we’re making lemonade out of lemons. My husband brought the kiddo over to his mom’s as planned. And I’ve decided to make it a relaxing lazy Saturday. I’m currently cozied in on my sofa watching Hockey Day in Minnesota – all day long hockey coverage from back home that starts with high school games, moves to a college game between Minnesota and North Dakota, and culminates with a professional game with Minnesota vs Colorado. It’s safe to say I’ll be tuned in.

I’ll probably end up doing some paperwork so I won’t be stuck doing it all last-minute tomorrow night. I’ll likely do some tidying up around the house and some laundry, and perhaps even make some comfort food. I’ve already made some hot chocolate in my favorite mug.

I’ll probably even mess around with my blog layout. When I upgraded my theme it got all messed up, and I’d like to think I still have the magic html touch. We’ll see… And if I survive this ridiculously crazy lazy day, I’ll celebrate with a hot bubble bath.

What’s your favorite way to spend a lazy day?

Sounds like a wonderful Saturday to me! I know I am very much looking forward to the Wings game tonight!!!! I do love Estes Park though, so that would be a bummer. I hope your hubby feels better soon and that you don’t get sick.

We just spent the last two days in a car-buying frenzy and are having a super-lazy day today! I’m sure eventually I’ll want to get a little cleaning done but for now it’s hanging around in our PJs watching Spiderman.
