Invest in the best when dressing your child

Any mom will tell you that after the initial thrill of dressing up their little one in innumerable outfits soon subsides and the daily task of decking out your tot becomes more of a chore. Rather than wanting to make a massive fashion statement, the most important thing when it comes to dressing your child becomes that their clothes are clean and comfortable as well as looking good.

Invest in the essentials to create a little capsule wardrobe for your baby, so even when their outfit gets wet or someone is sick all down their front, you can grab a replacement garment and are good to go in five minutes flat. Here are some of our top tips on how to streamline your baby’s style to save you time when you need it most:

Babygrows – the best invention since sliced bread. If you get a good few babygrows in a range of neutral colours and subtle patterns and prints you’ll have a great undergarment that coordinates with all your baby’s clothes. Whether you pop it on to keep them cosy when you’re out and about or use it as something for them to crawl about with when they’re playing indoors, you can never have too many babygrows.
Jeans – just like with mom, a good pair of jeans goes with everything. Whether you have a little prince or princess, investing in a bit of denim means that you’ll always have something to slip on their lower half, letting a trendy top do all the talking.
Subtle shoes – if you go for shoes in whites and creams then you’ll always have pair to complement their clothes, whether your child is in a colourful combo or a candy striped creation. As your baby gets bigger the appeal of cute but costly shoes subsides, you’ll probably be after something that suits every outfit so you don’t have to go searching through a mountain of mini-shoes.
