Help a cat find a home in Denver

The Cat Care Society (CCS), a cage-free shelter in Lakewood, Colorado, is filled to the brim with homeless cats of every description! So the staff at “The Best Little Cat House in the West” is reaching out to ask for your help. They’re hoping you’ll want to adopt, foster or volunteer to help the cats in other ways this holiday season.

Could you give a good home to one of the wonderful cats waiting for adoption? Check out all the adorable adoptable cats on the Cat Care Society’s petfinder page. The shelter is currently offering several adoption specials for cats of all ages. When you bring a feline friend home for the holidays, you’re giving a homeless cat a second chance and making room for another to be rescued.

Providing a foster home for a cat or kitten is another great way to help save lives. Foster homes are urgently needed for kittens and cats.

And if you can’t bring a cat home, the cats at the shelter always appreciate hands-on love and attention from volunteer visitors! In addition to volunteers, the shelter welcomes donations of supplies ranging from kitty litter to cat food to postage stamps and more. Visit the Cat Care Society website to learn more about volunteer opportunities, the cats’ wish list, and other ways to help.

If you can offer assistance of any kind, please call the shelter at (303) 239-9680 or email Linda at: The staff would be thrilled to hear from you and delighted to introduce you to the cats.

Thank you for anything you can do to help these homeless cats and the people who care for them. Each act of kindness brings us one step closer to No More Homeless Pets®.

  1. I just hate to think of all those cats without a home!

  2. AW, that breaks my heart to think of all of those kitties without a family!

  3. My heart is breaking just thinking about the kitties not having a home and someone to love them.

  4. We love cats and that is sooo very sad. I hope they all can find homes good luck

  5. Aww :( If I lived anywhere near there I’d volunteer! I used to volunteer at the local shelter before my schedule was taken over by a 2 year old :)

  6. Kathy says:

I love kitties, but I am allergic. Thank you for posting about this!

  7. Audrey says:

We are dog lovers and all of our dogs have come from shelters. We actually try to find shelters that are overcrowded and that put dogs to sleep when not adopted. Our current dog is about 2 years old and just adorable. We adopted him about a year ago.

  8. This sounds like a great group to support! All 4 of our cats are rescues and I wouldn’t have it any other way. :)
