This post is part of the Cloth Diaper Carnival hosted by Dirty Diaper Laundry and Cloth Diapering Bloggers. This month’s topic is cloth diaper awareness – what we are doing to promote the use of cloth diapers.
I think it’s pretty obvious that I use my blog to talk about our use of cloth diapers for Violet. Prior to her birth, I know I blogged a bit about why I chose to use them, and since she was born I have reviewed a good number of brands of cloth diapers. I know my blog doesn’t have a HUGE reach, but it gets plenty of hits for cloth diaper related keywords. Hopefully I am providing a resource to people interested in learning more about a certain brand, or diapering itself.
I have also done cloth diapering demos locally for people interested in using cloth diapers. This has generally been a one on one session with another mother (or sometimes both parents) where I bring various brands and types of cloth diapers and information packets on how to wash, wear, store, and buy cloth diapers.
As an avid Twitter user, I have taken part in the Monday evening #Clothdiapers chat a number of times. I haven’t recently due to other things going on during that time frame, but the times that we have gotten #clothdiapers to trend on Twitter we have definitely spread awareness!
Finally, I spread awareness any time I’m out with Violet and someone notices that she is wearing a cloth diaper. I try to take the time to explain there’s nothing “gross” about cloth diapering, and explain a little bit about what it involves and how easy it really is.
For my part it’s been little things to spread awareness, but sometimes it’s the little things that add up!

Keep it up! One tush by one we’ll change the world!
Even the little things help! I like to show my son’s cute fluff off when changing him too.
Thanks for joining the carnival!

The little things definitely add up! I’ve told many mamas about cloth when they see me changing my son’s diaper and ask questions. It’s a great way to reach out!
