Baby Potential | Review

Update November 2, 2010
Shortly after I did this review for Baby Potential, I made an order for a friend’s baby shower. I ordered the shirt on July 31st. As of today (November 2nd) it still isn’t here. I have contacted Baby Potential twice via e-mail, as well as contacted the PR person I worked with for this review. I have never heard back from Baby Potential, and my PR contact promised me she was working on it. This was about a month ago.

Baby Potential, in the meantime, sent me the SAME shirt that I reviewed in July. I received this in October. They also asked me to post a favorable review. I contacted Baby Potential (and my PR contact) about this, letting them know I had already posted this review in July, and that my reviews are honest reviews, whether that be favorable or not. I heard back from PR, who apologized for the situation, but have yet to hear back from Baby Potential.

At this point, I CANNOT recommend them as a company. I am out $21 for a product I never received, and had to buy a second shower gift for my friend. I have not received any response back from their customer service department despite sending two e-mails.

We all have aspirations for our kids. Who doesn’t dream of their child becoming a renowned brain surgeon, or finding the cure to cancer? Heck, some of you may hope that your child takes over the family business. We all have hopes and dreams for our little ones.

Wouldn’t you love to share your dreams with the world? Now you can with shirts from Baby Potential. With designs promoting careers in science, education, medicine and even law and farming, you are sure to find something that appeals to you. If you can’t, you can order a specialty shirt with the career of your choice (I really like this one – “Recycler”)

With the specialty shirts you can also receive hand embroidery around the collar by the women of Sew Circle. What is Sew Circle? Baby Potential has established a partnership with Family Services Association (FSA) of San Antonio to create a “Sew Circle”, which will be responsible for producing Baby Potential’s specialty line. San Antonio women receiving services from FSA will have an opportunity to participate in the Sew Circle allowing them an opportunity to earn additional income from the comfort of their home. Sew Circle associates will sew each patch and embroider a career name onto the onesies and t-shirts by hand. In addition, a percentage of the proceeds from the specialty line will be given back to various community outreach and educational programs in San Antonio funded through FSA.

Violet received a “Veterinarian” shirt which has adorable animals embroidered around the neck line. I hope to teach her the compassion for animals that I have. I’m probably TOO compassionate, which is why I couldn’t be a veterinarian – but maybe she will have that strength to actually become one.

(Did you notice what an awesome action shot I got of Helton jumping off the sofa behind her?)

Now, of course if she doesn’t want to be a veterinarian and would rather be an accountant like her dad, or a therapist like her mom, or heck, even a cupcake baker, I’ll be more than proud of her. But for now she can show off what her mom dreams for her in style.

This shirt is a size 2T and runs rather large. Violet wears anything from 18 months to 2T right now, but this seems a bit larger. I also received a 6-12 month onesie to compare in size and that seems to run more true to size.

As you can see, Violet already has a love for animals, as she’s pictured here with our sick kitty, Tulo. Who knows? Maybe her love for him will help heal him. We can hope!

Baby Potential shirts are a reasonable $15, and are absolutely adorable! They are sold online through the Baby Potential website. Additionally they can be found at Target.com and locally at select retailers in San Antonio, TX.

I received product samples from Baby Potential in exchange for my honest review.

Pretty cool company that’s helping women earn extra money in their homes doing hand embroidery.
I like the action shot of Helton, you see his feet and tail on one side of Violet and his head lower down on the opposite side of her. Violet is so pretty and I bet she makes Tulo feeled loved every day as you also do. Hopefully love will be all Tulo needs to overcome the very serious health foes that are attacking him. Tulo put your claws out and slash those nasty system attackers, don’t let them get the best of you.

Thanks for the follow up review of their service. While the shirt your daughter is wearing is absolutely adorable, that kind of service is deplorable and will certainly lose the company in the long run.

I used PayPal – I think you only have 60 days to contest a payment, so that is my fault for not acting on it sooner. I didn’t think a company I actually worked with would take advantage of that.
