About Me

My name is Katie. I’ve been married since August 2006 to my husband Scott who is an accountant with the Colorado Division of Wildlife. I’m employed full-time as a home health occupational therapist. We have a daughter, Violet, who was born in 2008. We also have 3 cats who are our furkids – Ellis, Dharma and Tulo. We moved into our first home in April 2010.

I grew up in the suburbs of St. Paul, MN and moved away to Ohio after I graduated from college. I lived there for 4 years and then moved to the San Francisco Bay Area for grad school, and lived there for 5 years. I met my husband while I lived in Ohio, but it wasn’t until my last year in California that we actually started a relationship.

I moved to the Denver, CO suburbs in July of 2005 and that is where we are now. Scott and I were married on August 26, 2006 in beautiful Estes Park, CO.

I initially created this blog in January 2008 when we knew that we were dealing with infertility in order to document our journey, and our life. Happily, we conceived with our first round of IUI also in January 2008 (after almost a year of trying to get pregnant). This blog has since evolved into somewhat of a “mommy blog”, where I try to provide helpful information to other parents, provide product reviews and host the occasional giveaway.

Aside from blogging, my interests include baseball, drinking good beer, Disneyland trips, yoga and spending time with my family.

    Hi Katie,

    I seriously NEVER do this but came across your video blog on your medi-fast weightloss.

    I have recently decided to start on the program and need to lose 55-60 pounds. I noticed that I didn’t see another blog from you after week 16 and wanted to see how you were doing? As 60 pounds at this point seems like an insurmountable goal.

      sorry for the late reply!
      Anyway, I have some food issues and am in therapy for them – I didn’t keep the weight off from Medifast. I did lose over 60lbs with them. I’m currently doing another similar program by myself which is all actual food, not the meal supplements. I’m a lot happier with that and probably wouldn’t do Medifast again due to how little real food it involves. Good luck with your program!
